Karmasphere Supports New Hadoop Distribution and Products from EMC

Cupertino, CA – May 9, 2011 – Karmasphere™, a Big Data Analytics company, today announced it is joining withEMC, the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, to make Apache Hadoop faster, more dependable and easier to use in the enterprise. Karmasphere, one of 11 technology leaders joining the EMC® Hadoop ecosystem, will certify its Big Data solutions (Karmasphere Studio Pro and Karmasphere Analyst) to run seamlessly with the new family of Apache Hadoop-based solutions introduced by EMC.

At EMC World today, EMC presented its new distribution of Apache Hadoop known as the EMC Greenplum HD family of products. These new offerings represent the first EMC commercialization of Hadoop and are the latest in a series of products that have evolved from the EMC acquisition of Greenplum last year.

Karmasphere Founder, Chairman and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Martin Hall, will be speaking this week at the Data Scientist Summit sponsored by EMC and part of the company’s EMC World conference. Hall will be co-presenting a session titled “Hadoop: the data scientist’s dream?” on Thursday May 12, at 10:45 am PDT.
